Section 508 Compliance
Section 508 requires federal agencies and contractors to make electronic and information technology accessible. We help teams meet those requirements with audits, remediation, and accessible development aligned to Section 508 and WCAG 2.1/2.2 AA.
Section 508 applies to federal agencies purchasing or developing electronic and information technology — websites, web applications, and procurement portals included. Contractors delivering digital products under federal contracts must also meet these standards. Non-compliance can block contract awards, trigger complaints, and result in contract termination.
Section 508 was updated in 2018 to incorporate WCAG 2.0 AA. Current federal enforcement trends expect WCAG 2.1 AA as a practical minimum — we deliver to WCAG 2.2 AA. In short: meet WCAG 2.2 AA and you satisfy Section 508.
